Successful launch of The Pride Villager 2018
WILLEMSTAD - On Friday 18th May, the first copy of the sixth edition of The Pride Villager was presented to Eliènne Kirindongo, deputy of Mrs Alcalá Wallé, Minister for Education, Science, Culture and Sport. The Pride Villager is a glossy magazine that is published in the months prior to the Curaçao Pride. The magazine contains interviews and articles that are all related to the LGBT life on Curaçao. The magazine also provides extensive information about the upcoming Curaçao Pride that traditionally takes place in the last week of September.
"We are very honored that the the Ministry of for Education, Science, Culture and Sport has received the first issue and has publicly expressed her support for the organization of the Curaçao Pride and thus also for the publication of this unique magazine. We hope that by publishing this magazine, in addition to providing information about the Curaçao Pride, we will also contribute to a piece of education that underlies acceptance, self-development and development. The main subject of the magazine this year is religion. We have conducted a number of interviews in which people tell us how they combine their sexual orientation with professing their faith."
The Pride Villager costs Nafl. 10, - and can be bought from next week onwards at Van der Tweel supermarkets, Bruna, Mensing's Caminada and Floris Suite Hotel. The Pride Villager is also offered as an in-room magazine in all rooms of the Floris Suite Hotel.
