Rema Uni: yes, to signatures but no petition recognition
WILLEMSTAD – Rema Uni has started a signature action. The stakeholder organization for parent committees was recently informed by the Minister of Education by means of a letter that the recognition of the organization as the mouthpiece of the committees has been withdrawn.
Mirugia Nowels Wieske, chairman of the organization, does not know whether there is a connection between the way Rema Uni spoke out about defective cleaning work at the schools that fall under the Public Schools Service, DOS, or that this has nothing to do with it.
She does express the difference of opinion that arose between the head of DOS and Rema Uni when they spoke about the withdrawal of the recognition.
The fact is that a signature action has been started, but it is not the intention to take it to the minister as soon as possible to exert pressure to reverse her decision. On the first day, more than a hundred signatures were taken immediately.
