Policyholders ENNIA are at risk
WILLEMSTAD - The Central Bank of Curaçao and St. Maarten (CBCS) says that it rightly intervenes with the insurance company ENNIA. People who are insured with ENNIA run the risk of not getting their money if suddenly many people file a claim.
The insurer then does not have enough money in cash to pay everyone. This is according to a statement by the CBCS.
Some 500 million guilders from ENNIA are in the United States, and some 500 million have been invested in Mullet Bay on Sint Maarten. That is money that the insurer cannot simply have access to.
