Official opening City Beach 88 in Pietermaai
New city beach in Pietermaai officially opens its doors on Friday 23 March with a free live performance by Curaçao Junior Tecla.
WILLEMSTAD - On Friday, March 23, pop-up beach club City Beach 88 officially opens its doors in Pietermaai. From four o'clock in the afternoon, there will be a festive opening with, among other things, a live performance by Vibenation with Curaçaoan Junior Tecla. Access is free for all interested parties. City Beach 88 is located right by the sea between boutique hotels Scuba Lodge and BijBlauw. It is located at Pietermaai 86 and the adjacent area of Pietermaai 88.
The first guests have already met the new city beach. Since the soft opening a few weeks ago, City Beach 88 has already welcomed a considerable influx of tourists and residents. The official opening will take place after the installation of the special Valoriani pizza oven from Florence was completed together with the biggest renovation project.
City Beach 88 is open daily from 10 am and is open to the public free of charge. Here guests can enjoy the sea view, friendly service and simple but good food including paninis, salads, snacks and pizzas. There is also a daily happy hour between 5 and 6 o'clock in the afternoon. The unique beach and restaurant experience will be affordable.
General Manager Christina Sieperda: "Pietermaai has become increasingly popular in recent years because of the many renovations, both locals and tourists come here to enjoy cultural events, the atmospheric and historic surroundings and the diverse range of restaurants and cafés. With the opening of City Beach 88, the district now has a public beach with free entrance and beach beds - another reason to visit Pietermaai! Given the existing parking problem in Pietermaai it is decided that the front of the site is available as a free parking space, and good accessibility remains an important incentive to go out."
