Minister of Education: “Student loan debt Curaçao students is worrisome”
WILLEMSTAD - Curaçao students have a worryingly high student loan debt. According to Minister Marilyn Alcalá-Wallé of Education, Science, Culture and Sport, this debt currently amounts to 300 million guilders which is difficult to pay back.
The minister's idea is developing a mode to motivate young graduates to return to Curaçao after their studies. In addition, the minister says that she is looking at how the study debt can remain affordable with better reimbursement schemes.
