Invitation to celebrate the end of the Ramadan
WILLEMSTAD - The Muslim community in Curaçao announces that on Friday June 15 it will be the first day of Eid Al Fitr after 29 days of Ramadan.
During Ramadan there is the feasting from 5 o'clock in the morning till 19.00 with no eating or drinking during that time and it is the time every year again when Muslims concentrate on their beliefs and their devotion to Allah.
The Muslim community is in Curaçao since the 19th century.
The mosque in Curaçao exists since 1965 at the Weg naar Welgelegen and it is one of the first mosques in the region.
President of the Muslim community in Curaçao Yehia Baroud says that he must always think of deceased bishop mgr. Willem Ellis who said that he is satisfied that the house where he was born and raised became the Muslim centre meaning that it is a house where God is served.
Congratulations to the members of the Muslim community in Curaçao and hopefully all will be present on Friday morning 8.30 for prayer in mosque Omar Bin Al-Khattab.
Mr. Baroud informed that in the coming days more information will be given on the development of the Muslim community in Curaçao.
