Government discusses return Venezuelan fruit boats
WILLEMSTAD – Tomorrow, the Council of Ministers will meet on the return of Venezuelan sellers. This is according to the Minister of Economic Development Steven Martina. He reacts to the opening of the borders between the ABC islands and Venezuela.
The last fruit boats left in early March. The popular spot at Sha Caprileskade was then opened by the government to local sellers. But now the chances are high that the vendors from Venezuela will return.
According to Martina, there is no reason to change the policy, but the situation is different now. That is why on Wednesday the government will debate on this issue. Previously Martina stated that if the Venezuelans were to come back, they could search for another place for them.
