Dutch First Chamber wants the Netherlands to aid with the reception of Venezuelans
WILLEMSTAD - The First Chamber of the Dutch Parliament wants their government to act in consultation with Curacao and Aruba to ensure that Venezuelan refugees receive a humane treatment when they arrive on the islands.
The Chamber adopted a motion on this issue this week. It was proposed by Tineke Strik of the GroenLinks party.
The motion asks Ministers of Justice and Foreign Trade in the Netherlands, together with the Undersecretaries of Asylum and Kingdom Relations, to ensure that Curaçao and Aruba receive adequate assistance from the Netherlands. In this way, they must be able to guarantee those asylum seekers from Venezuela can be taken care of humanely.
