Curaçao cannot get its public finances in order
WILLEMSTAD - The government of Curaçao has to cut 82 million guilders from its national budget but has not been able to do this. According to the Committee for Financial Supervision (CFT), the Minister of Finance is not able to get the public finances in order. For example, incidental revenues are used to cover structural costs.
Austerity has not been achieved. If Curaçao does not find a solution in the next two weeks, then there is a chance of intervention by the Kingdom Government in The Hague.
