Colombian group will not take over Kura Hulanda Hotel
WILLEMSTAD – The Colombian group On Vacation will not take over the two hotels Kura Hulanda in Otrabanda and Kura Hulanda Lodge in Westpoint. This is according to the Minister of Economic Development, Steven Martina.
For a year and a half, On Vacation has been waiting to take over the two hotels. Apparently, it did not work out for the Colombian group. The wait has been too long and they decided not to continue with the deal.
According to Minister Martina, the negotiations were between two private parties and the government had a facilitating role. But that was to no avail and now the Colombian group of Carlos Londoño has completely abandoned the negotiations. In a radio interview, the Minister says that this development is very disturbing. “These hotels are in dire need of some investments. Currently, everything is being done to keep the hotels running under the supervision of general manager Jeanette Bonet. This is done with the limited available cash flow and with the help of the lenders.”
