Civil aviation investigates possibilities of public transport obligation
WILLEMSTAD - The connectivity of Curaçao aeronautics must be improved. This is according to Hans de Jong says, since last October the new director of the Civil Aviation Curaçao. Transport flows in the Caribbean are often thin, according to De Jong, and the need for connectivity is great.
This attracts heavy burdens on commercial airlines.
In the coming months, the Civil Aviation Authority is looking into the possibilities for establishing a kind of public transport obligation between Curaçao and certain destinations. The government then ensures that the prices remain affordable.
