Arrests for fraud with prescriptions
WILLEMSTAD - This week three house searches took place in Curaçao, namely in North Rozendaal, Kaya Dal Pega and the Cassandraweg.
The searches were conducted in the presence of a magistrate and a Public Prosecutor of the Public Prosecution Curaçao (OM). The investigation "Tardor" refers to possible fraud with counterfeit prescriptions with which medicines were obtained.
The investigation came to light after a declaration by the Social Insurance Bank (SVB) about irregularities.
Two people from Curaçao were arrested with the initials J. de W. and L.L.G. Fake prescriptions and medicines were seized during the house searches. It is a fraud investigation in which public health is also jeopardized, according to the Public Prosecution.
